Henri Germain’s Chassagne-Montrachet comes from gently sloped vines in Les Battaudes, near Santenay, which were first planted in 1961. This is all red fruits - raspberries, redcurrants – with a subtle complementing note of woodsmoke. 18 months ageing in oak barrels gives this Pinot Noir great structure and gentle tannins. Pair with slow-roasted duck this autumn winter.
