Blackdown Distillery is the oldest distillery in Sussex, founded in 2012 by Sarah and Nathan Thompson at Lurgashall in the South Downs National Park. Its 40 acres of ancient Silver Birch woodland provide the signature botanical — birch sap, tapped each spring — inspiring its award-winning range: Sussex Dry Gin, Silver Birch Vermouth (the first British vermouth), Silver Birch Vodka and seasonal hedgerow liqueurs, all using only British ingredients and packaging.
