In 2019 we wanted to try our hand at an American IPA using American hops and we sourced a new hop (for us) called Centennial. When we trying to come up with a name for the beer we looked for something that happened 100 years ago (i.e. centennial) with an American connection. What we found was that in 1919, the legendary baseball player Babe Ruth was transferred from the Boston Red Sox to their bitter rivals , the New York Yankees.
