Appearance: Opaque Scarlet red-black. Brick red rim. Aroma: Initial impressions of milk chocolate, asian spices and white pepper, underpinned by smoky cedar vanillin. As the wine opens up these characters are supplemented by mineral, black olive, plum sauce and mint. Palate: Disarmingly gentle and structured. Generous helpings of dark, red berry fruit, with hints of liquorice, tar and more chocolate. Very soft tannins on the mid-palate are balanced by the natural acidity, evident from a mild vintage, which carry the flavours through to a long, satisfying finish.
