Bruichladdich Distillery is a fiercely independent Islay single malt producer, revived in 2001 after years of silence by a group of whisky enthusiasts led by Mark Reynier. Now owned by Remy Cointreau, the distillery champions provenance, transparency and terroir, producing three distinct character lines: the unpeated Bruichladdich, the heavily peated Port Charlotte and the ultra-peated Octomore — among the world's most peated whisky — all bottled on-site with unusual openness about production details.
